How To Make The Most of The Last Days of Summer

How to make the MOST of the LAST DAYS of SUMMER

END OF SUMMER & HOW TO MAKE THE BEST OF IT!

Vacation Vlog #vacation #summeractivities Summer is coming to a close and while we all know how excited I am for Fallโ€ฆ I thought it be nice to give summerโ€™s end its final goodbyes in this – and maybe the next – few blog posts, and how to make the best of it!

I know. Me too.

Yet, somehow, the end of summer is bittersweet. Iโ€™ll miss the warmth of the sun but I wonโ€™t miss the bugs! And where we are, we get whatโ€™s called a Monsoon Season.

As that came to a quick close as well, and while the bugs are alive and well, still tryna figure out how to annoy me.. before they’re final hoorah in my backyard… Haha!

So, I ask youโ€ฆ With summerโ€™s end looming, how do you make- or are you making, or even have you made already – the best of it?

LMK in the comments below!

As summer packs its bags and prepares to hibernate until next year, we decided to give it one last hurrah with an epic trip to Laguna Niguel, CA.

And boy, did we have a good time!

Imagine the Ritz Carlton, luxurious enough to make you feel like royalty; the beach, where sand and sea conspire to create unforgettable memories; and the culinary delight of Young’s Surf Shack.

Oh, and did I mention we crashed a wedding setup party?

Buckle up, because this is going to be a legendary tale of summer fun!

Psssstttt! We’ve also documented it in video form, so check out the video when you get a chance!

Rolling Out the Welcome Mat (At the Ritz)

Our arrival at the Ritz Carlton felt like stepping into a dream, or perhaps a music video where we were the stars.

The doorman welcomed us with a smile that said, “Wow, you must be someone important,” or maybe he was just excited because his shift was ending soon.

Either way, we were set for an experience of luxury. The room was a haven of comfort with a view that shouted, โ€œPICTURE TIME!โ€ every few seconds.

Of course, we obliged.

The beach was our next destination, and oh, what a paradise!

The golden sands practically screamed, “Lie down already,” and the azure ocean whispered, “Come and play.”

We spent hours frolicking in the waves, which is a sophisticated way of saying “almost got knocked out by the surf.” Our attempts at building a sandcastle were earnest but futile.

Trust me, building castles in the sand is much harder than you think.

Right, didn’t get that issue. But! We were missing the plastic pails and shovels needed to aid our artistic endeavors.

We called it “Modern Art” since it resembled a Picasso painting more than a medieval fortress.

Anyway, moving on.

We also dabbled in some frisbee; let’s just say if there were an Olympic event for worst frisbee player, weโ€™d have taken home the gold.

Eventually, we ditched the frisbee, or rather gave it back to the crying child who’s parents instructed us to do so, since accidentally picking up what didn’t belong to us.

Stop judging. I told you it was an accident.

Oh, I agree. Shall we move on?

…and so, we resigned ourselves to a more, stuck to the saferโ€”side of things and less energy-intensiveโ€”activity of sunbathing while trying to discern cloud shapes (every single one looked like a dragon, by the way).

After a rigorous workout (see: lying on the beach), it was time to refuel.

Enter Young’s Surf Shack, where the motto should be: โ€œCalories donโ€™t count when youโ€™re on vacation.โ€ The breakfast burros were the stuff of legend, almost as if Neptune himself had a hand in the recipe.

The beach croissants were amazing enough to make you temporarily forget every diet youโ€™ve ever been on.

Yeah, but not really, there WAS a lot of avocado. So, you know, WINNING at that super healthy thing!

Conversation with fellow diners was also a treat. We met a couple who had the uncanny ability to grill us with 20 questions about our favorite vacation spots while simultaneously stuffing their facesโ€”heroes, honestly.

I mean, they had great intentions, with trying to chat and it was great… but, come on, we were just hungry and I didn’t want to be forced to choose between meeting new friends and eating my burrito.

And, in case you were wondering, yes. The burrito would win.

Every.

Time.

And now, for the highlight of the trip.

Oh, stop it. It’s great!

While wandering the beach, we stumbled upon an immaculate setup: twinkling lights, floral arrangements to die for, and an atmosphere electrified with excitement.

It was a wedding setup party!

Now, we didnโ€™t plan to crash it, but when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade and maybe add a splash of tequila.

We didn’t DO anything. Relax. And, I’m joking about the booze.

That part I added in for fun!

Pay attention.

We boldly strolled into the scene, tried on imaginary tuxedos, and danced like nobody was watching (even though they totally were).

We posed for selfies on the outdoor stage, with the decorโ€”who knew floral arches could be so photogenic?

The exhilaration was contagious, and we even joined a spontaneous dance-off that erupted. With just ourselves, naturally.

Pro tip: the Macarena is always a crowd-pleaser, even if half the crowd is staring in bewilderment.

Eh, tomato/toh-mah-toh…

The party planner approached us and we thought for sure we were in for a lashing. But, you know what?

No! Not at all! In fact…

She was great! She was getting a kick out of our utter amusement, and gently making fun out of her glorious party-planner genius!

You really should check her out if you need party planning services and are in the Orange County/Los Angeles area!

Nurturing the Nostalgia

As the days trickled by, we felt the bittersweet nostalgia of a summer bidding us adieu.

Each morning came with a reminder that we needed to live the day to its fullest. We indulged in more beach time, explored local shops, and even ventured to try paddleboarding.

The latter was less “gliding gracefully on water” and more “trying not to fall every two seconds,” but hey, effort counts, right?

On our final evening, we planted ourselves on the beach to witness the sunset. If Mother Nature had an award show, the sunset that night would have taken home all the Oscars.

And I would’ve dressed up for the occasion!

Oh, yes, tiara, silk gloves and all!

Oh, definitely!

The sky transformed into a canvas splashed with shades of orange, pink, and purpleโ€”colors that even Instagram filters canโ€™t replicate.

We sat there, marveling at the beauty, reminiscing about our escapades, and mentally prepping for the return to reality.

Laguna Niguel gave us everything we hoped for and more: relaxation, adventure, and plenty of laughs. If you ever get the chance to visit, take it.

And remember, lifeโ€™s too short to play it safeโ€”sometimes the best memories come from the unplanned moments, like crashing a wedding setup party.

So, as summer waves its final goodbye, letโ€™s promise to make every moment count. Whether itโ€™s a spontaneous road trip or simply watching the sunset, embrace the magic of now. Hereโ€™s to more adventures, unforgettable experiences, and living life to the fullest!

Closing Out Summer with a Bang: Fun, Sand, and Spectacular Prep for Fall! ๐ŸŒž๐Ÿ‚

Living it Up in Laguna Niguel

Oh, Laguna Niguel, you truly were the cherry on top of an amazing summer! ๐ŸŒด

Imagine it: there we were, basking in the luxury of the Ritz Carltonโ€”talk about swanky! ๐Ÿจ

We hit the beach daily, with the Pacific calling out to us like a siren from Greek mythology. Our days were filled with sunshine, surf, and the joy of doing absolutely nothing but relax.

Youngโ€™s Surf Shack was our go-to for some gnarly grub.

Fish tacos that could make you weep tears of joy and smoothies that could quench the most unquenchable thirst. ๐ŸŸ๐ŸŒฎ๐Ÿฅค The crowning jewel? Crashing a wedding setup party!

Just imagine: fairy lights going up, flowers being arranged, and us slipping into the festivities like ninjas. ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’ƒ

But all good things must come to an endโ€”enter: the winding down of summer and the ramping up into fall. ๐Ÿ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Oh no, I am sure yall heard enuff!

Anyways…

Now, if you’re anything like me, the transition from hot summer days to the structured grind of Q4 can be a bitโ€ฆ daunting.

Luckily, Sarra Cannonโ€™s HB90 organizing system is here to save the day (and our sanity)! ๐Ÿฆธโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ“‹

Now, let me geek out for a sec.

Facts.

Now, let me geek out for a sec.

I’ve been using the HB90 system for nearly a full year, and Iโ€™ve never been more on top of my game, Fam! ๐Ÿ˜Žโœจ

But this time, I took it up a notch.

I printed out my HB90 boot camp pages, hole-punched, double-sided, and in full color for the first time.

No, I had a two-printer situation that was actually quite horrific.

Oh, seriously, I had one printer that was air-print that wouldn’t cooperate and full color printing. And another high volume printer that printed in B&W, and you needed a thumb drive to do the said printing.

Yeah, it was Nightmare on Elm Street-worthy frightening.

Yes! We finally bit the bullet and bought ONE new printer to relieve the other two of duty! And… it was like…

Itโ€™s like a rainbow exploded in my plannerโ€”organization nirvana! ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ“š

So, in the spirit of a well-organized, super fun transition into fall, here are some tips and tricks Iโ€™ve picked up thatโ€™ll make your Q4 as smooth as butter!

  1. Create a Summer Scrapbook: Capture and preserve your summer highlights. Glue in ticket stubs, sand dollars (if you can find โ€˜em), and snapshots. That way, when youโ€™re buried in work by November, you can flip back and relive those sun-soaked days.
  2. Host an โ€œEnd of Summerโ€ BBQ: Invite friends for one last hurrah. Nothing says goodbye to summer like a feast of grilled goodies and cold drinks. ๐ŸŒญ๐Ÿป
  3. Get Your Fall Wardrobe Ready: Pack away your summer clothes and bring out the cozy sweaters and boots. Imagine sipping pumpkin spice lattes in your favorite fall get-up. ๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿ‘ข
  4. Plan a Fall Adventure: Whether it’s apple picking, a pumpkin patch visit, or a mini road trip to see the fall foliage, having something to look forward to makes the transition smoother. ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿš—
  5. Declutter Your Workspace: Itโ€™s the perfect time to Marie Kondo, Swedish Death Clean, or just shuffle your desk. Toss what you donโ€™t need, organize what you do. Trust me, an uncluttered space leads to an uncluttered mind. ๐Ÿงน๐Ÿ—‚

Letโ€™s dig a bit deeper into the HB90 system because, honestly, itโ€™s a game-changer.

And, I cannot, in good conscience let a post go by when the most LIFE CHANGING boot camp came into my life and not let you in on it!

Sarra Cannon’s Heart Breathings HB90 Boot Camp is like having a life coach in your pocket, guiding you step by step to reclaim your time, crush your goals, and balance creativity with productivity. ๐ŸŒ€๐ŸŽจ

I canโ€™t tell you how satisfying it is to see my goals broken down into manageable tasks. Plus, the full-color pages I printed?

Don’t worry. I’ll just make this one point…

They make me feel like a productivity wizard every time I flip through them.

It’s bringing a whole new level of excitement to planning for Fall! ๐ŸŽฉ๐Ÿ“…

Speaking of excitement, I’m thrilled to share my affiliate link for the HB90 boot camp [INSERT AFFILIATE LINK] โ€“ *wink* because who doesnโ€™t want to kick off the fourth quarter with a fresh, vibrant approach? ๐Ÿฅณโœจ

Join the boot camp, print those pages in full color, and letโ€™s conquer Q4 together!

Wrapping up the summer with a bang and getting ready for the productivity surge of fall need not be a drag. With a pinch of preparation, a dash of organization, and a sprinkle of summer memories, youโ€™ll glide into Q4 like a pro.

Remember, my friends, itโ€™s not just about the tasks and deadlines but about making each moment countโ€”whether youโ€™re catching the waves in Laguna Niguel or color-coding your HB90 planner.

Hereโ€™s to a fantastic end of summer and an even better start to fall! Cheers to making magic happen! ๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿพ
