Which Spring DIY Personality Type are You?
I know what you’re thinking.
And I agree… I don’t think there is such a thing.
But, let’s have a little fun today with a few random projects that take us through spring into summer with some ideas outdoors.
Or… maybe indoors?
Each a little different in ‘nature’ – haha get it?
*we get it
I’m so punny.
*that’s not punny.
Aw, you’re no fun, alter-ego.
With all the ‘personality quiz’s’ that keep popping up in my feeds this season, I had to wonder. Are there any quizzes for a seasonal personality type? Sure, I’ve seen the quizzes – during whichever season is, well, YOUR season.
*huh?
Yeah, that confused me too.
*like, the four seasons? i.e. Spring, Summer, Fall, & Winter…
Yes. You said that much better than I did. Thanks!
*sigh… eye roll.
But, I’m talking about WITHIN the season. For instance, we’re here in Spring-Summer.
(Although, it already feels like summer heat here in these mountainous regions.)
*June is generally our hottest month anyway…
Totally! It’s why I decided to try putting static cling tint on all my windows! Help reduce the heat that comes in through the windows.
More on that later…
There has to be personality types within this spring season. No?
Well, I couldn’t find a quiz that suited this query o’ mine, so I decided I would lay out a few personality types to choose from, and thennnn, we’ll pop in a quiz down at the bottom so we can all find out which one we align with the most.
Fun, right?!
Okay, so let’s begin with what I’m calling the first personality type:
The Flower Fields Personality Type.
I’ve designated this first personality type to fit the description of the human that doesn’t quite like, or enjoy the outdoors.
You LOVE the “idea” of venturing outdoors and possibly running through, um… errr, the weeds?
Buuuuuut, you’d really PREFER to just eye that field of flowers from a window. *shrugs*
ITโS THAT TIME OF YEAR! Do you hear it? The birds chirping?
- The grass growing quietly from underneath the brisk mornings, still covered with remnants of the winter chillโฆ I was never really a fan of spring.
- The manic days & nights that flip flop, from winterโs cold, to early summerโs warmth. All within hours, or even minutes.
- The allergies from the pollen afloat through the air. The yearning for berries, and smoothies; but, too cold to really commit to cooler, summer foods yet.
A few years ago…
I began taking an interest in gardening. I donโt believe I am very good at it; although, I have had some luck with an amazing crop of green beans one year, a wonderful bounty of zucchini another.
The grapevine seems to have survived my barely-there green thumb!
The dirt under my fingernails used to make me wince. Now, I enjoy the practice of โearthingโ or baring my feet for a session in โgrounding,โ as some call it!
I know! Can you believe it?
I’m playing in the freaking dirt!
Touching, kneading, and feeling the dirt. With. My. Hands.
And feet.
Ohh… The calming, and realignment to my center it hath brought! It’s like I nary miss the indoors anymore… altho, a bubble bath, does thou callest thine name!
*knock that off
What?
*that Bridgerton banter of hath and nary business
Oh, shall you not make such a tizzy… it’s fun!
*no-eth, it’s not.
Ha Ha! See! You loveth it!
If you are a gardener, whether a noob, or experienced, I implore you to chat about it in the comments below. Offer some tips!
I’m always open to hear what’s working with you and your garden efforts and what I might be able to do better in my garden!
Gather and unload any information here!
Iโm an ever-learner and love the trials and tribulations of gardening.
And.. of course, the fruits of the labour!
Which brings me to the first video of that spring season-love, a plan + plant with me for my spring garden.
Give it a watch and lets chat about it below:
Well? What did you think? This noob’s gonna noob!
(Now, full disclosure, this is NOW, going on my third year of gardening from my Flower Fields days of snubbing it, and choosing to remain an ‘indoors’ girl.)
But, I feel I’m really getting the hang of it and making it work for me. Which brings me to my next spring personality type…
Betty The Builder Personality Type
In short, Betty the Builder, is a type that has a bit of experience during spring. She enjoys being in the brisk cold of morning, she’s out all day, soaking in the garden views, enjoys getting a little bit dirty bc she has to, and why wouldn’t she?
She’s so proud to show off what she has created!

I like coffee! Lots of it! Scan the QR code to find out how to support us here on the blog!
Let’s talk all things, “how to get your projects done,” in the garden!
So, I HAD to tackle this rundown, wannabe, trellis that I had mangled together with some random leftover items from chicken wire and some overhang we replaced from a temporary garage project.
…and, ultimately we have come to this point, where I turned it into a much more, visually appealing grapevine trellis
Like, a freaking, REAL TRELLIS!
Don’t get me wrong. I’m grateful for the gift of creatively figuring out HOW to create a trellis in the first place with… Well?
Not much.
I started out with what I had.
And, that’s what I preach + practice!
And, truth be told, I still am using – WHAT I HAVE!
I originally reused old tarp poles from a flimsy carport situation, that the inclement winter months took upon itself to destroy.
But, never one to be dismayed, I repurposed those poles and stretchy knobby things (also items that were all over the place from the carport disaster) all over that garden!
So now, I have some leftover wood from the old, gnarly shed we tore down last year.
*or was it the year before…
Hmm.. I have no idea now. Could’ve been two seasons ago, sure.
*shrugs*
While a lot of that wood had to go bye, bye; we were able to keep some of it and repurpose it!
Oh! Happy Day!
Check out the next video below to see how I repurpose – again with some old stuff I had laying around to create a stand-along trellis, a grapevine would be proud to call home!
How cool did that turn out?!
Very cool. If I do say so myself!
THE PROJECT WARRIOR PRINCESS PERSONALITY TYPE
Our third and final “spring personality” type I want to have fun introducing you to would be:
Project Warrior Princess!
Now, this gal is ready to tackle any of it, no matter how hot the weather, or how dirty the dirt! She gets in there and gets it done!
She knows how to use tools, is all about the “diy” projects – even if it means she’s never done it before! This personality will just “go for it!”
So let’s see what kind of projects we’ve gotten into under this type.
I wanted to show you how my patio planning and paving is coming along. Sure! I could have hired some people to do, get it done quickly, all in one season.
But.. something happened when I took this on!
This has turned into an annual passion project for me each spring, and into summer, if I can stand those beautiful, overheating, summer rays of course!
Laying pavers can be tedious work; but, itโs been so worth it! To see this backyard oasis starting to take shape into something a little more elegant, a little more peaceful, and a little more functional than it started has been so rewarding!
What are you working on for Spring? Summer?
Do you garden?
Do you like to take on construction projects?
How does this video inspire you to tackle your yard work?
Give it a watch, if you haven’t seen it already.
Let me know in the comments below what you thought and what you’re working on this season!ย
Hey #weekendwarriors ever think of tackling the outside of the house? I worked on that project a bit too!

THE WRAP UP
We had a lot of fun in today’s post! Plus, I had a good time creating these “personality types” for Spring & Summer too!
After reading through them, seeing examples, and getting a good idea of what they all mean… Which one sounds like you?
Let’s find out! Take the quiz!
So… which spring personality type fits you best?
Were you able to find out? I know I started from the Flower Fields type and slowly graduated to the Project Warrior Princess!
And now that I’m nearly done with that backyard, what shall I work on next?
Stay tuned: HARBOR EXCURSIONS 2 is on its way! Due for release this July and I could not be more ecstatic and happier! It’s been an amazing journey to get here.
