Journey to a Boutique Closet Design | A Winter to Spring Reset + Refresh Vlog

It feels like yesterday since the last closet update but, here we are again! Ha! But, itโ€™s – technically – been a whole season already!

Can you believe it?!

…annnnnd, spring is right around the corner! Literally!

Daylight savings time just happened, so you know what that means:

*not everyone knows what that means

Of course they do!

*not true. just elaborate on it for a quick second

Clocks Spring Forward March 10th!

Fine. Springing the clocks foward so the light comes up earlier, and the days start to get longer. Initially, started for the farmers to increase their crop growing season.

There. Good enough?

*it’ll have to do.

Okay… thanks. Moving on.

*peeking around the corner “yup, I see it. chop! chop!”

The birds are chirping again in the morning, and Iโ€™ve already seen a gnat floating about in the air.. so, where I stand, yup.

It’s already made it’s appearance. Although!

Technically, it says it starts on March 19th on my calendar.

I guess that means, I need to stop procrastinating on this overflowing closet situation and, JUST, handle it!

My Journey to a Boutique Closet Design | A Winter to Spring Reset + Refresh Vlog

Iโ€™ll be moving out the winter gear + replacing it with summer. Iโ€™ll also need to decide which clothes werenโ€™t worn and which clothes are worn out! So many decisions to be made but thatโ€™s okay.

If youโ€™re wondering where the heck all the jackets, and coats went… well, I moved those back to our bedroom closet where theyโ€™ll stay until next fall and winter seasons!

I tried to edit as I went along, knowing what I didn’t wear, couldn’t wear, no longer was wearing, didn’t look right, etc. You get it. But, it is still an overflowing seasonal wardrobe, as far as I’m concerned.

But, no matter. Let’s do this.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:

Okay, now that that’s settled.

How’s that closet sitch-i-ation coming along?

It’s coming along.

Here’s the thing… we don’t always like how maybe it ended up. The results of our declutters, or rearranging, or even, last but not least, the overall edit we even DID on our wardrobe.

But, regardless, there is something at play here that We don’t always keep in mind.

The closet, our wardrobe, is ALWAYS, ever-changing!

We may change our tastes, therefore, we may change our style.

Don’t sleep on this offer!

Which then, in turn, allows us the opportunity to adjust that style accordingly.

We may suddenly decide we no longer want to hit the trendy stores and opt for a more classic vibe.

We may realize, hmmm… I’ve been pushing these 20 year old styles and they’re just not me anymore.

I need to add some grown-up additions to my wardrobe.

We may say to ourselves, “hey there, you’re an adult now, maybe I should upgrade, class it up, get some fancy clothes.”

Or, “I just hate the way this closet looks when I approach it. The clothes are overflowing. It’s just a hot mess.”

Whatever the case may be, and I can relate to all the reasons listed above, there’s a plethora of reasons to get in that closet and get busy!

My motivation this spring fling?

To redesign my closet with an ‘heir’ of that boutique shop.

You’ve seen it. Those precious little stores on Rodeo Drive, or the Seaside Bluffs, with their quaint, little cottage villages by the sea, and their shops.

I just want to give a shoutout to Jennifer L. Scott, from The Daily Connoisseur.

As this idea was not my own, and just inspired me so much…

When she posted on her ‘jewel box transformation series’ she’s doing in her home currently, this closet design idea, was so perfect!

…and was just what I needed, to inspire a new approach to my winter to spring closet refresh!

Take a look at Jennifer’s video if you would like to reference. Her channel – it is truly, just so great. I love it!

What a great video, right?!

This just gave me so much inspo, I could not stand it! I ran right into my closet and starting touching things, tossing things, and rearranging things!

*full disclosure*

I had to watch this video a third time, just to make sure I had ‘all the feels’ right, that I intended to aim for!

Pretty sure I did.

I know. You’re all about ‘making sure.’

And, I’m so glad I did!

I even went back and did a little, touching up. Here and there. To ensure I nailed the look I was going for!

And to lighten up the load…

*phew!*

I, so, needed to do that!

So I’ll leave you with a list I created if this is something you would like to give this approach a try, like I did!

*This png list should be copyable, and printable. If it isn’t my apologies. I’m learning how to allow downloadable items into my posts, free to you, of course!

Thanks for stopping by today! I’d love to hear from you! Please like, comment, and subscribe to the blog, and additionally, the quarterly newsletter, if you so desire to hear more more from me!
