‘I’ve been a patient girl with this ‘winter’ thing.

I’ve embraced the snowflakes with kisses, and coraled the icicles with hugs.
Really.. I’ve done all I can do, to say “hey winter! I like ya!“
So.. yeah, maybe spring can come early?
Are you listening, Mother Nature?
Should I jump atop a roof to shout it out?
Or rather… let’s express it how I’m really feeling.
Hurry the heck up!
And, while the temps here are in full manic mode:
i.e. 28 degrees overnight + 70 degrees midday….
it’s just not feeling like spring quite yet.
So! *CUE the DIY PROJECTS!
THE OUTDOOR… DIY PROJECTS. To be more precise.
If you’re here for the double dose dutch -hold up! Wait a minute!
Anyone else singing along to that oldie but goodie from the 80s?
*no.
No?
*no
Just me?
*just you
I’m the only one on the double dutch bus?
*the ‘double dutch’ huh? what? oh for heaven’s sake.
Fine. I’ll dance alone then –
“Double dutch bus driver, let’s ride!”
It’s another post day that has not one topic to eat up, but if you’re looking for that nom-nom book documentary-type of vibe; scroll to the bottom and you can find that bonus bus dutch double post there!
*slaps forehead, oh geez
Full disclosure: there isn’t a bus, or jump ropes.. just another topic read. lol but it’s fun to daydream…
*sings – the double dutch bus drives along the wayyyy
*that is not how it goes
I know. So, I’m just going to sing it my way until I find the song online or something
*which you’ll probably not go look up
Tru. Probably not going to go look it up…

And since, one of my least favorite activities is helping Bruno out with his… uh… remnants? I figured I’d drag you all along, unwillingly, to help me knock out this D00-ty… HAHAHA.
I know. Crude.
But, it was totally funny.
*hm. was really tho…
I sure thought so. And definitely, PUN-ny!
*well you are your own best audience
OMGosh. Thanks! I am, huh!
*wasn’t really a compliment, girl
I can find the positive, even in the most snarkiest, of backhanded compliments!
Hoe.
*eye roll
Okay, okay. I’ll stop calling you that. I don’t know what’s gotten into me this post. Guess I’m feeling a bit ornery. *shrugs
Hang with me while I do a couple light shores, get outside and turn on the circular saw, use a drill, and try to build a stove cover. Or two!
I found this DIY Stove Cover project somewhere on a YouTube Channel out there in the web-i-verse. It was pretty straight-forward, and easy to put together.
And, honestly, it’s lasted for quite some time! It’s still going strong. Although, there are, on the bigger stove cover I made that you will see in the video, the handles I used were made of a ribbon, and they’re kinda lookin’ shabby right about now.
But, I have some twine laying around —
*who just has twine laying around?
I do.
*why?
Uh, well because, inner-critic, I’m always finding random projects and things to do ’round these parts. I’m a wealth of project-doing fun!
*project-doing. fun. you say?
I say.
Project-Doing Fun, I say!
*alrighty then
If I didn’t keep busy, I’d lose my marbles
*and… you haven’t already.
I would!
*sure you haven’t already, tho…
I’m pretty sure I have no idea.
Either way. May I continue?
*waves off* fine. i guess.
I have some twine laying around the house, and I decided to use it to replace the handles I originally put down in the cover in the video. Other than that though, it has really held up.
And yes, it’s just for looks. It’s not that necessary to build one of these. But, it did another square foot of countertop space, and it’s visually, and aesthetically, pleasing to look at!
So.. what did you think? Satisfying footage, yes! I’m a big believer in just “getting it done.”
I learned of a new philosophy? Motto?
*well, which is it?
Hush, Bianca.
*you just gotta land on something, sweetheart
I don’t know! Get off my back. May I continue?
*fine. carry on with this underwater basket-weaving, ball of yarn…
Okay. So. Whatever it is.. for keeping a tidy home. It’s called the “Touch Once” or “One Touch” Rule.
*now its a rule?
I don’t know. Call it what you want. lol.
Basically, it’s exactly as it says. You touch items in your home one time.
- So, if you take it out, play/work/etc with it then you put it away immediately.
- Second, if you see it, and it’s not where it belongs you pick it up, take it with you – on the “where ever the roaming takes you” on that pacing the house journey – and stick it where it belongs when you get to it’s home where it (the item) belongs.
The point is, you just touch it one time. I do have a basket that I drag all over the house all day long, day in and day out.
*a basket.
Yes, a basket.
*a tisket, a tasket.
Wow. Quit it.
*a flower making basket?
Shush it. Its just a plain ol’ basket. You could use a bin, a large bowl, a tote bag… I don’t know. Pick your proverbial poison and just grab something that holds a good amount of oddball things.
Then, as you see misplaced items, toss them into the basket.
*a tisket–
Nope.

Let’s say you’re just not ready for spring.
Just not quite yet…
*said, NO one EVER.
I know… stay with me.
Some days, it looks like Spring it peeking through in those, early, brisk AM hours. While other days, I’ve got frost bite on my toes.
So, if you’re not the outdoorsy type – which quite frankly, I’m indeterminate on whether I am or not. Like.. I thiiiink I am. But, then there’s times when I don’t think I quite like it.
*what.
No, really. Is it just me?
*probably.
Think about this. SO, in the summers, I lifeguard at the community pool, I am in the yard doing yard-friendly lol or maybe not so friendly – gotta be tough on those weeds, if you know what I mean!
Alternatively tho, I actually don’t want to ‘get dirty.’
*ah. but you started doing grounding tho, didnt you?
Yes, I actually like that. But, then don’t like hiking in my hiking shoes because I feel like the dust and dirt just clings to me.
Yet, they probably DO. NOT.
haha. Can you see me right now, just walking around thinking I’m rocking a dust cloud like PigPen from Charlie Brown. All because I’m wearing – quite specifically – hiking shoes?!
OMGosh, I can’t stop laughing at this visual right now. Wish you guys could see me right now! Ha!
But, alternatively, I’m barefoot grinding along the hiking trails, believing I’m actually less filthy… O.M.G.osh.
But, going barefoot on the hiking trails feels kind of cool, and interesting. And yes, I really do think I’m less attracting the dirt. *throws hands out in confirmation*
*that literally is oxymoronic.
I know. I get it.
*you get that you’re not making sense.
Yeah… but, is that front page news?
*fair.
Okay so, now that we’ve come to a conclusion on that random debate on dirt vs. no dirt, I think we’ll move indoors and do some indoor things.
Well, mostly I just want to share my library book haul with you and maybe a little chit-chat review of some books I’ve read lately.
These reviews get backlogged into my video file vault if I don’t post for a while so it was time to clean out some of these, so I can one day get back to my regularly scheduled content of writing things.
Because, I know some of you readers, are writers, and keep reminding me.. friendly-like, that “Hey boo! Writing content, please.”
*gotta give the people what they want
Thanks, bish- I mean, alter-ego/inner voice. Hoe.
*I mean… the name-calling today tho.
Aayyyyyy…*switching gears!
Let’s stay in, indoor-friends, and chat with me about books!
What a fun collection of reads and hauls this week! Sometimes, I like to stroll the library for things that ‘just catch my eye!’
No rhyme or reason. No plan. No title-specific, cognitive searching. Just a random, ‘let’s grab some books because we like the covers’ kind of grab!
Have you ever tried to haul some library books this way?
Maybe you’ve done this at Barnes N’ Noble? In bookstores?
Although… I gotta represent some kudos to you! If you are a book-buying, wallet-slinging, bookstore risk taker…
My hat is off to you! I salute you!
All the hails! All the praises!
That’s ballsy.
I’ll jump on a hot air balloon ride before I’d get that risky! lol tru story.
*still not making sense, missy
Right. They are very different risks.
*ya think?
ORRRRR… Are theyyyy….
*they are. smh.
Sure, fine. But both these high risk activities, are both, totally high risk activities. IMO.
*okay, lemme hear this one, explained… *cue, girl math
Hot air ballooning. Risky. You’re a couple hundred feet above the ground. You could fly away, fall out, the champagne glass can fall overboard… you get it.
*uh-huh… and the book-buying is similar to, death by hot air balloon, how?
The book buying. High risk to your wallet. Okay, maybe not death. And you’re also emotionally risking probably disappointment. Both, by being sad when the book ends terribly, or its boring, unsatisfying, whatever.
Double down, on that!
And… then the realization that you wasted x-amount of dollars on it, you can’t buy those shoes now because you bought ‘that damn book that sucked,’ vibes spewing all over the place.
Bah.
I know.
I digress.
*not sure you really explained that to satisfaction
Don’t think I really did either…
Starting to think that this is the “new year, new me” vibes. Ha!
*crazy lady talking to herself?
Eh… crazy lady talking to herself?
Or… genius savant!
