How I Touched Laundry, Released the Chickens, and Still Made It to Lunch Looking Cute

Cozy Winter Morning Routine ❄️ 4AM–10AM

Or: How I Touched Laundry, Released the Chickens, and Still Made It to Lunch Looking Cute

There’s something about winter mornings that feels a little secretive. The world is quiet, the sky is still deciding what color it wants to be, and the house hasn’t started making demands yet.

This morning routine lives squarely in that calm window between 4AM and 10AM, where everything feels possible… and also slightly unhinged in the coziest way.

If you’re new here, hi 🤍 I’m Rita — author, actress, lifestyle creator, and your cozy-but-chaotic bestie. Today I’m walking you through a realistic winter morning routine that’s equal parts intentional, productive, and forgiving.

No perfection, no pressure.

Just small wins stacked gently on top of each other.

Settle in. Grab your coffee. Let’s wake up the day together.

🌌 4:00 AM | Waking Up While the World Is Still Asleep

There’s a very specific kind of peace that exists before sunrise. No notifications. No expectations. Just the soft hum of the house and that moment where you decide who you want to be today.

I don’t leap out of bed like a motivational speaker. I move slowly. Purposefully. With intention — but without drama. Winter mornings aren’t for rushing; they’re for easing into the day like you’re stretching your soul awake.

🧺 Morning Laundry (Yes, Really)

Let’s talk about laundry — and no, don’t leave yet.

I’ve learned that laundry doesn’t need to be an event. It just needs to be touched. Every single morning, I do one small piece of it:

  • Toss a load into the washer

  • Move it to the dryer

  • Pull it onto the folding counter

  • Fold a few things

  • Put away exactly what my patience allows

Touching laundry daily keeps it from turning into those intimidating piles that stare at you judgmentally from across the room. You know the ones.

This habit alone has saved my sanity more times than I can count.

If you’re watching this while folding or pretending you’ll fold later — I see you. You’re doing great.

🛏 Bedroom Reset + Bruno Time 🐾

Next stop: the bedroom. Also known as Bruno’s office.

Bruno has a very specific favorite spot on the bed, and honestly, this room doesn’t feel complete until he’s settled there supervising. If you’re the kind of person who understands dogs needing emotional support naps, welcome — you’re my people.

I like to move through the house with intention. I don’t rush, but I don’t dilly-dally either. It’s a comfortable pace that matches my morning energy — steady enough to be productive, slow enough to feel cozy.

If you gave Bruno some lovies by hitting the like button on the video, please know that he absolutely believes those are for him.

🛋 Great Room Thoughts + Pinned Dreams

There’s a moment every morning where I look at the sofa and think, Today is the day. And then I remember the carpets. And then I remember time. And then I make a mental note for the next video.

Some desires get lovingly pinned for later — and that’s okay. Not every good intention has to be completed immediately. Winter is about pacing yourself.

💄 Getting Ready for the Day (and Eliminating Negotiations)

This is what I call getting ready for the day — face on, hair assessed, outfit chosen.

And almost every morning, I start in workout clothes.

Why? Because it removes the emotional negotiations.

When I used to get dressed in regular clothes first, I’d spend half the morning bargaining with myself:

“Well maybe later… maybe tomorrow… maybe after coffee number four…”

Starting the day already dressed for movement makes it a non-negotiable. Whether it’s 15 minutes, an hour, or one of those accidental dance workouts where I completely lose track of time — I’m already ready.

Making the right choice the easiest choice has changed everything for me.

What are your morning non-negotiables? Coffee? Quiet time? Movement? Let me know — I love hearing what anchors your day.

🐔 Letting the Chickens Out + Morning Air

One of my favorite rituals is letting the girls out in the morning. There’s something grounding about opening the doors, feeling the cold air, and watching them step into the day like they have very important meetings scheduled.

They help wake the house up — and let’s be honest, they’re judging my workout form later.

This moment always reminds me that routines don’t have to be complicated to be meaningful.

💪 Getting Ready to Work Out (No Pressure Allowed)

Workout time doesn’t need to be intense to count.

Some days it’s strength. Some days it’s stretching. Some days it’s dancing around like no one’s watching — even though the chickens absolutely are.

The goal isn’t perfection. It’s showing up. It’s keeping promises to yourself before the day starts asking for everything else.

👗 Outfit Try-On + Birthday Lunch Energy

After the morning reset comes the fun part — getting dressed for a birthday lunch with the girls.

This is where the energy shifts. Cozy productivity gives way to laughter, music, and that feeling of yes, this is why we did all that earlier.

Ending the morning surrounded by friends, laughing and singing and soaking in the moment feels like the correct reward system.

❄️ Why Seasonal Resets Matter

I genuinely believe there’s something refreshing and satisfying about resetting each season — if you can swing it.

Winter especially invites us to slow down, reassess our rhythms, and choose what we want to carry forward. Not everything needs to be optimized. Some things just need to feel good.

If you made it this far — thank you for hanging out with me through this long, cozy morning. Truly.

How did your own reset go today? What are you working on right now?
